A man wins at Ladies Poker...?

Here’s a question for you. Perhaps even a moral dilemma. If you won a poker tournament entitled Ladies Poker Championship, would you be telling all your friends about it (assuming you are male of course)?

Well, that’s precisely what happened to Mr Sessler when he won the Harvey’s Lake Tahoe casino circuit event related to the World Series of Poker. With a field of 96 contestants in the championship, there was not only Mr Sessler, but a further three men entered into the tournament!

Pondering the dilemma of entering a tournament for the opposite sex we discovered that World Series tournaments cannot and are not discriminatory to one gender. Although targeted to female players there is absolutely nothing to prevent male players joining in.

This in turn raises another set of questions about the positioning of a female poker event and about the motives of the four men who chose to enter it...We have been assured that the naming is intended to attract more female players into live poker events as clarified by a World Series of Poker press release:

"While the WSOP makes a sincere effort to promote women in poker and offers quasi-exclusive tournaments designed to increase female participation in the game, officials generally do not turn away those who want to play in the event, based solely on gender."

And as for Mr Sessler, he maintains that he entered the event purely for practical reasons of his time constraints, "If Jennifer Harman would have come and played in the ladies event, she would have been much tougher competition than me. I came here because I only had one day, and I really like the structures and the payout (of the women's event). This was the only tournament I could play."

Whatever your alleged gender, play at the top online poker rooms, with the highest rates of rakeback. What’s more you can introduce your friends to rakeback and earn monthly commission!
